BARCELONA Last day at Mercado de la Boqueria

Trip: Europe May 2022

On our last morning in Barcelona, we made our final visit to the vibrant Mercado de la Boqueria for some snack food before our train ride to Madrid.

So many things to choose from!

We ended up buying two different types of chocolate croissants for breakfast, a cone of salami, and a baguette sandwich for the train ride.
The croissants were not as good as the one at the Arôme Bakery in London.
We were very tempted to get an empanada to try, but ended up with the trusty baguette sandwich instead.
Goodbye Barcelona! We love your market!

BARCELONA Louro

Trip: Europe May 2022

Louro restaurant is a hidden gem in the heart of Barcelona. It is located on the famous La Rambla street, but is on the second floor of an unassuming building. Most tourists will miss this, but we did not want to leave to chance, and booked our reservations before our trip began.

The food was excellent, and we highly recommend for you to go.

Because the lobster rice was made for two, we could not sample as many tapas dishes as we would have liked to. But the lobster rice was totally worth it.

Daily special

Galician clams with classic Marinera sauce

Lobster rice for two

Louro famous cheesecake

BARCELONA More Mercado de la Boqueria

Trip: Europe May 2022

On the day that we plan to walk to the beach, we stopped at the Mercado de la Boqueria to buy sandwiches to-go. We also bought homemade chips to-go.

We really enjoyed this style of simple lunch that allowed us to be on the go when we explored the city. We then saved room for a nice sit-down dinner at a nice restaurant at the end of the day.

BARCELONA Carrer de Petritxol

Trip: Europe May 2022

Carrer de Petritxol is a famous chocolate street in Barcelona. It is located next to Las Ramblas, and is famous for the chocolate shops, the art galleries, and the tile decorations.

The tiles have information on the birth or death of famous people in the city.

If you are a chocolate lover, you must walk down this quaint pedestrian street.

The first time we walked down this street, we ended up buying chocolate from four different shops, and we did not regret it!

Chocolate Churros
The art galleries and souvenirs shops were very cute too.

BARCELONA Tapeo

Trip: Europe May 2022

We made reservations at Tapeo before our trip began. This tapas restaurant had raving reviews and it did not disappoint.

Every single dish was amazing. The Crema Catalana was the Spanish take of the crème brûlée and it was out of this world!

We were shocked at how cheap this was; it was about $90 for all this amazing food! So good!

This restaurant is my favorite Tapas restaurant of all the ones we tried in Spain. The plates were the right portion, and each plate was so special and amazing. A must try!

Jamon Iberia

Tomate con Burra
Tomato with Bufala Burrata

Entrana Chimichurri

Those who did not plan ahead and make reservations had a long wait ahead of them.
