PARIS Hanoi 1988

We read good reviews about Hanoi 1988, a Northern Vietnamese phõ restaurant that typically had long lines. It had a great location of being on the Île de la Cité, near the major landmarks like Saint Chapelle and La Conciergerie.

We were interested in checking out the taste difference between a Northern Vietnamese pho versus the Southern Vietnamese style that we were used to. Tonight was a good night, because after our day spent in Montmartre, a bowl of hot phõ sounded good to us.

As soon as we arrived, Phil upped his pace to get in line. Fortunately, the line moved well, since the service was fast.

The inside of the restaurant was very cute and colorful. We got an outdoor table as it was the first one available to us. We ordered some egg rolls to share, and they were very crispy and excellent. Everyone ordered the phõ specialty, and we enjoyed the delicate broth very much. It was delicious.

RECOMMENDATIONS: Highly recommended if you don't mind waiting in line. The wait was not bad, and their specialty phõ was light and tasty. An excellent choice if you want a light meal.
